Doing laundry in China kinda sucks because the washing machines are small and there are no dryers here so everything has to air dry. I gotta figure out a way to get that dryer sheet smell back on my clothes, you know I have to keep em smelling fresh. Ive had my first load drying outside for like 2 days and they still arent dry. Damn humidity and moisture from this raining shit, I guess. Whatever, Ill prob go out and get a new wardrobe for like 10 bucks soon anyway.. haha.

Yesterday me and Michelle hired a driver and took the two girls from Israel to Yao Mountain, which is about a 1/2 hr drive out of the city center. Its the highest point within Guilin area, not sure about in the whole province of Guangxi. Its about 2,727 ft above sea level I believe. Anyway the driver that we got is cool as shit, cant understand English, and blasts generic Chinese techno the whole trip.. haha. Some funny ass shit, really. He dances to it too. Once we get out of the city we are basically driving on dirt road in the countryside. There are tons of flower gardens, catfish farms, all kinds of tree farms and tropical plant farms.. Pretty cool ride. We seen some poor ass people out there, living in shacks with no electricity or running water.. Crazy. Once we got to the entrance to Yao Mnt the driver got out and helped us get our lift tickets to go to the top. They have a chair lift like at a ski slope set up to take you to the top. The ride takes about 20 mins and is just about straight up, dont think it would be legal in the States. The scenery is gorgeous, but it was a foggy ass day and the clouds were low so the higher we went the less visibility there was.. It was a real shitty day for going to the top, we decided once we got up there and couldnt see shit.. haha. It was kinda expensive too at 75RMB each, which is over 12bucks. We have to go back now because the picture we seen from the top are amazing.

After we got back down the mountain we got back in the car and our driver took us back to the downtown area to find us some good food. He would stop at all these places with fish in tanks and chickens that you could pick out which one you wanted and watch them kill it for you, but Michelle didnt want to eat at any. He kept saying the same things over and over in Chinese, like you much eat beer fish and then go on jet ski's. Beer battered fish from the local river he was talking about and one of his friends has a jet ski that he wants us to go on because he thinks its the coolest thing. We finally got him to drop us off at a Chinese restaurant. The total for the day was 100RMB, cheap as hell, and he pulled away still bumping his techno. We got his number though, for next time we want to hire a driver, he was fun.

So me, Michelle, and the two couch surfers sat down and had a huge Chinese lunch for about 3bucks a piece and then walked by the river drinking beer for a while. We met a local guy name Leo(who hangs around with us a lot) and this girl from our school by Liberation bridge and chilled for a while interacting with a bunch of Chinese who are soo interested in us and want to take pictures. I look over and this woman has her son taking a shit right on the ground in the street. I tried to snap a pic but couldn't get one off in time. Pretty disgusting but Michelle says its normal here and they do it all the time.. Yuck! We then walked over by this huge banyan tree by the old wall to the city. The tree is about 1000 yrs old and grows posts down from the huge branches to support itself, which is soo cool. There is one in a near-by city that is over 3000 yrs old!! Gotta go see that one and I think you can take a boat from Guilin to the other city too.

We got a text about a Chinese punk rock show that was going down at a bar this foreigner Adam owns at night. We called a few people and got a crew together to go. We got there at about 9pm and the first band was just finishing up. Surprisingly they were pretty good, doing a lot of Green Day covers and other punk songs Ive heard before. Not really my scene but it was interesting seeing Chinese skaters and punk rockers trying to mosh around. Chinese mosh pit? One of the funniest things Ive seen hear so far. These little Chinese skater dude bouncing around jumping up and kicking the air, haha crazy. I got in and pushed some people around and they loved it! It was fun. They serve these peanuts at this bar that you have to open and they are kind of stale tasting but I like them a lot better than regular peanuts I think. Id rather eat them at a Yankee game then the ones you buy at Yankee stadium. The show ends at about 11pm and the bar clears out except for the foreigners and a few choice locals that Adam knows. We set up some tables in the middle of the room and sit down to play a drinking game called Qibajiu. It involves a community cup and a pair of dice in another cup. The first persons that rolls add as much beer as they want into the cup and then the shake the dice in their cup and slam it on the table revealing the roll. If they roll a seven they have to add beer to the cup, again as much as they want. If they roll an eight they have to drink half of the beer in the cup. If they roll a nine they have to finish the cup. Any other number and its the next persons turn. If they roll doubles you switch directions and its the person behind you's turn. Its a really fun game and we got hammered.

This girl Wendy, who we hang out with a lot, came with us. She is on the Halloween pic with the mask on in one of the previous posts. Anyway she wants to learn some Spanish and I have been teaching her a little since I know some and she has been trying to teach me some Chinese. Turns our while we are practicing a couple other Chinese guys that are hanging out know some Spanish and join in. They dont know as much as I do and Im saying all kind of funny shit to them, like 'wash those dishes', or 'your Mom is hott and has a nice ass' or 'blow me'. They just nod and laugh and pretend like they understand. I fill Wendy in on what Im saying and shes just about rolling on the floor laughing. Soo funny. Chinese guys are cool as shit though, always offering me beer and cigarettes. All of a sudden I smell weed and look around to find this dude loading a bowl of what looks to be hash. It goes around the table and gets to me and I confirm that is definitely hash, and good hash for that matter.. haha. We got stoned as shit. Imagine what a Chinese guy looks like stoned as shit, cant even see his eyes anymore..haha. It was awesome. We stayed at this bar playing Qibajiu until like 4am, then a couple Chinese guys drove us home. He was a little too drunk and stoned to be driving in the pouring rain, but it still was a fun ass night!
